The Office of the Mayor.
The Mayor is the representative of the Council for all the effects of ACT No. XV of 1993. He presides over all meetings of the Council and supervises all the functions of the Council. He is responsible for the furtherance of the objects and provisions of the Act and together with the Executive Secretary has the legal and judicial representation of the Council. The Mayor of the Pieta' Local Council is Dr. Malcolm Mifsud LL.M (IMLI),LL.D., who is currently in his fourth three year term of office. The Deputy Mayor of the Pieta' Local Council is Ms. Annhelica Scerri.
The Office of the Executive Secretary.
The Executive Secretary is the Administrative, Executive and Financial Head of the Council. He is responsible for the implementation of the Council's decisions and for all the administrative and financial functions of the Council. Together with the Mayor he has the legal and judicial representation of the Council. The Executive Secretary of the Pieta' Local Council is Mr. John O'Dea who joined the Council in June 1996.
Committees and Sub-Committees are chaired by Members of the Council. The Chairpersons of the Committees and Sub-Committees within the Pieta' Local Council are as follows:

The Mayor is an ex-Ufficcio member of all Committees and Sub-Committees within the Council.
The Council meets on alternate Wednesdays. Meetings normally commence at 18.30 hrs and are open to the public.

Winter (1st October - 30th June)
08.30 hrs. - 12.30 hrs.
13.30 hrs. - 16.30 hrs.
Summer (1st July - 30th September)
08.00 hrs - 13.00 hrs.
The Mayor, Dr. Malcolm Mifsud is available to meet the public every Monday between 17.00 hrs and 18.00 hrs.
